BRIDGEPORT — Three men face multiple charges after police discovered drugs, cash and a firearm during a traffic stop Friday.

Patrol officers observed a silver Chevrolet Malibu parked in front of a fire hydrant at the intersection of Washington Avenue near Center Street at 11:30 a.m.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers determined the car’s registration was suspended due to insurance compliance issues.

The driver, identified as Christopher L. Cintron, 31, was unable to provide valid registration or proof of insurance.

During the encounter, an assisting officer noticed rear passenger Torrance McClain, 25, adjusting his waistband and observed what appeared to be an “L” shaped object.

When officers asked McClain to exit the vehicle, he made additional adjustments to his waistline before sitting back down, raising officers’ suspicions.

A pat-down revealed McClain was carrying a firearm without a valid pistol permit, according to police.

During an inventory of the vehicle before towing, officers discovered 38.5 grams of cocaine, 624 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials, and $1,908 in cash.

Cintron was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operation of a drug factory, operating a vehicle with insufficient insurance, and improper parking.

Jaqwan D. Brooks, 30, another passenger, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operation of a drug factory.

McClain faces charges of illegal sale/purchase of a large capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit, operation of a drug factory, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

Bond was set at $35,000 for both Cintron and Brooks, while McClain’s bond was set at $45,000.
