MAMARONECK — A 43-year-old Mamaroneck man wanted for burglary and assault charges in two states was arrested Friday after police spotted his vehicle with an improper license plate frame.
Christopher Arroyo was taken into custody at approximately 1:20 p.m. on April 18 after officers conducted a traffic stop as he was exiting a McDonald’s restaurant parking lot on Boston Post Road.
Officer Reyes initially observed Arroyo’s vehicle stopped in the roadway near 46 Madison Street earlier that day, but the vehicle left before officers could make contact.
A DMV inquiry revealed Arroyo had his New York State driving privileges revoked and was wanted on fully extraditable warrants from Las Vegas, Nevada, and Carol Stream, Illinois for Burglary in the First Degree and Assault with a Weapon.
Police utilized “advanced law enforcement technology” to track the vehicle as it returned to the Village of Mamaroneck.
Arroyo was charged locally with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor.
A Fugitive of Justice Warrant was completed and filed with the court.
Following arraignment in Village Court, Arroyo was remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections.
Both Las Vegas and Chicago police departments have advised they will be filing extradition charges.
