Driver charged after truck crashes in Italy, NY

ITALY — A 23-year-old Allegany man faces multiple charges after his pickup truck crashed on Italy Valley Road early Sunday morning.

Wesley T. Quattrone was arrested following an investigation into the property damage accident that occurred at 5:47 a.m. on April 13 in the Town of Italy.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Quattrone was driving southbound when his truck failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway and struck a ditch and multiple trees on the south side of the road.

Deputies discovered an unsecured firearm in the vehicle and a fraudulent identification card at the scene.

Quattrone was charged with Failure to Safely Store Firearms 1st, Possession of a Forged Instrument 3rd, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Motor Vehicle Accident, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, and Moved from Lane Unsafely.

He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Italy Court at a later date.

The Naples Fire Department and Penn Yan Ambulance assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
