CHELSEA — Chelsea Police have arrested a juvenile in connection with an April 16 shooting that left a 33-year-old Chelsea resident in critical condition, authorities announced Friday.
The shooting occurred around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Webster Avenue and Broadway.
Responding officers found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
After an investigation, detectives identified and apprehended a juvenile suspect from Chelsea.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including illegal possession of a firearm and armed assault with intent to murder.
Chelsea Police Chief Keith Houghton commended the investigative work of local detectives and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
Due to the suspect’s age, no further identifying information will be released, authorities said.
