WHITMAN — A 42-year-old Whitman man was arrested on drug trafficking charges Thursday evening after police discovered methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop.
Matthew R. Luddy was pulled over by Whitman Police officers at approximately 8 p.m. on April 17 for a traffic violation.
Officers determined Luddy was operating a vehicle with a suspended license, according to police.
During an inventory of the vehicle, officers discovered a bag containing four plastic baggies of methamphetamine, totaling 24 grams.
Police also recovered a glass pipe and a digital scale from the vehicle.
Luddy was charged with trafficking in cocaine/methamphetamine 18 grams or more, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense), and operating with an obstructed non-transparent window.
Following his arrest, Luddy was arraigned in Brockton District Court and is currently being held in custody.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department provided assistance in the matter.
