BOSTON — Boston police arrested a 17-year-old male from Mattapan on multiple firearm charges Friday night after responding to a loud party in Dorchester.

Officers from District B-3 and District C-11 responded to reports of a large, loud party at 50 Burt Street at approximately 10:21 p.m. on April 18.

Upon arrival, police observed numerous individuals, many appearing underage, consuming alcohol outside the residence.

As officers worked to disperse the crowd, they noticed a 17-year-old male jumping a fence into a backyard on Bailey Street.

The teen reportedly changed his behavior when he noticed police, attempting to walk away casually after initially moving in an evasive manner.

Officers stopped the suspect near 32 Bailey Street and subsequently recovered a firearm in the backyard he had exited.

The weapon was identified as a black 9mm Canik Century Arms semi-automatic pistol with an obliterated serial number.

Police said the gun was equipped with a large-capacity magazine containing seven live rounds, including one round in the chamber.

The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, unlawful possession of ammunition, defacing a firearm serial number, and trespassing.

The teen is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
