ORANGE — A 69-year-old man died Friday afternoon after being pinned beneath a tree he was cutting down at his Dogwood Road home.
Orange Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene at approximately 4:40 p.m. after relatives called 911.
The Orange Volunteer Fire Department used specialized inflatable airbags to free the man from beneath the fallen tree.
The victim, whose name has not been released, suffered fatal injuries when the large tree fell unexpectedly onto him.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to investigate the death.
No criminal charges are expected in connection with what authorities described as a tragic accident.
