ST. JOHNSBURY — Police arrested a 41-year-old local man after finding him asleep in an apartment that should have been unoccupied.
Officers from the St. Johnsbury Police Department responded to 457 Cliff Street at approximately 10:13 a.m. on April 18 after receiving a report of a possible unauthorized entry.
Upon arrival at apartment 3, officers, with assistance from Vermont State Police, discovered Donald Hitman sleeping inside the dwelling.
Hitman was arrested and charged with unlawful trespass of an occupied dwelling.
He was processed at the police department and released with a citation.
Hitman is scheduled to be arraigned on June 2 at 8:30 a.m. in Caledonia Superior Court.
