CABOT — A local man was arrested Friday after allegedly firing multiple rounds from a firearm during a vehicle repossession incident, state police said.
Stephen Strait, 40, of Cabot, was taken into custody after troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene at approximately 12:03 p.m. on April 18.
According to investigators, Strait discharged multiple rounds from a firearm in close proximity to another individual and near a residence during the repossession attempt.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Further investigation revealed Strait was in violation of an active abuse prevention order at the time of the incident.
Strait was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing and later released with a citation.
He faces charges of violation of an abuse prevention order, aggravated disorderly conduct, and recklessly endangering another person.
Strait is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Washington County Criminal Division, on April 21 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charges.
