KINDERHOOK — State Police arrested two men on drug charges following a traffic stop on Route 9H near the Presidential Estates Mobile Home Park on April 17.
Jose Sanchez, 45, of Hudson, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a B Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree, a C Felony.
Kenneth Douglas, 43, of Elizaville, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree.
Troopers initiated the traffic stop on a grey Mazda at approximately 4:40 p.m. and observed a small quantity of cocaine inside the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that Sanchez, the driver, was in possession of approximately 14.2 grams of cocaine and 6.8 grams of crack cocaine.
Douglas, the passenger, was found with a crack pipe, according to police.
Sanchez was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and remanded to Columbia County Jail without bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 23.
Douglas was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Kinderhook Town Court on May 27.
State Police were assisted by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
