SOMERSWORTH — The Strafford County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 39-year-old Dover man wanted for allegedly assaulting a deputy during a traffic stop Friday morning.

Jamie Lanciano is wanted on charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving after being deemed a habitual offender, and disobeying an officer, according to Sheriff Kathryn L. Mone.

Deputies from the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Somersworth Police Department conducted a traffic stop in Somersworth at approximately 8 a.m. Friday.

Authorities identified Lanciano as the driver before he fled the scene.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Dover.

The injured deputy suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident.

Officials warn that Lanciano should be considered armed and dangerous.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about Lanciano’s whereabouts to avoid approaching him and instead contact the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office or their local police department immediately.
