ADDISON — New York State Police responded to a fatal residential structure fire Thursday morning at 8752 State Route 417 in the town of Addison, Steuben County.
Multiple area fire departments were dispatched to the scene.
First responders located an unconscious male on the second level of the residence.
The individual was extracted from the structure, and CPR was administered at the scene.
Despite life-saving efforts, the male was pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Randy M. Allington, 64, a resident of the home.
The Steuben County Coroner responded and officially pronounced Allington deceased.
The Steuben County Fire Investigation Team is assisting in determining the origin and cause of the fire.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported to first responders.
The New York State Police were assisted by the Addison Fire Department, Tuscarora Fire Department, Thurston Fire Department, Forest View Gang Mills Fire Department, Painted Post Fire Department, Woodhull Fire Department, Cameron Fire Department, AMR Ambulance, Addison Ambulance, and Addison Police Department.
