BOSTON — A 34-year-old Hyde Park man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly breaking into a home, pointing a gun at the resident and stealing the victim’s keys.
Nathaniel Wade faces multiple charges including home invasion and unlawful possession of a firearm following the incident that occurred around 11:49 p.m. on April 17.
Officers responded to a disturbance at 1453 Hyde Park Avenue after Boston Police Operations reported that a suspect had entered a victim’s home, pointed a gun at them and fled with the victim’s keys.
Police quickly broadcast a description of the suspect and vehicle.
An officer leaving District E-18 spotted the vehicle exiting from Winthrop Street onto Hyde Park Avenue and initiated a traffic stop in the area of 1414 River Street.
Officers ordered the operator and passenger to exit the vehicle and placed them in handcuffs.
During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a Smith & Wesson AirWeight .38 Special containing five rounds in the magazine.
Wade was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on charges of home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, armed robbery, threats to commit a crime and witness intimidation.
