ELMIRA — The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Josiah M. Lewis of Elmira as a fugitive from justice on charges stemming from Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
Lewis faces a lead charge of burglary of an overnight accommodation with no person present, in violation of Pennsylvania law.
On April 17, the Criminal Investigations Division received a warrant from Bradford County requesting that Lewis, who was already incarcerated in the Chemung County Jail, be held on the Pennsylvania warrant.
Lewis was subsequently processed as a fugitive from justice.
Following arraignment in Chemung County Court, Lewis was remanded back to the Chemung County Jail where he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania.
