NORTH TONAWANDA — A 57-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene Thursday night in North Tonawanda.
The North Tonawanda Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Payne Avenue at approximately 10 p.m. April 17 following reports of a pedestrian-vehicle collision.
Officers and members of the North Tonawanda Fire Department provided immediate aid to the victim at the scene.
The injured man was transported to ECMC with serious injuries, where he continues to receive treatment.
Detectives and the NTPD Accident Investigation Team processed the scene following the hit-and-run.
The suspect vehicle and driver were located by detectives the following day on April 18.
Police officials say the driver is cooperating with investigators as the investigation continues.
