EAST DURHAM — A brush fire near the top of Cornwallville Road was contained Thursday afternoon despite challenging wind conditions and dry vegetation.
The East Durham Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene after being dispatched at approximately 2 p.m.
Firefighters deployed forestry lines and equipment upon arrival as the fire began climbing the mountainside.
Multiple mutual aid departments were called to assist with the containment efforts.
The fire was successfully contained with no reported injuries or property damage.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
