3 arrested in Salem after 66 shots fired on Albion Street

SALEM — Three teenagers were arrested Friday in connection with a shooting incident on Albion Street where 66 shell casings were recovered, according to Salem police.

The shooting occurred Monday at approximately 6:55 a.m., when three suspects opened fire in what police described as a targeted attack.

No injuries were reported, but bullets struck nearby structures, vehicles, and signs.

Ronnie Cato, 19, of Dorchester, John King-Marshall, 18, of Quincy, and Richardson Frederic, 18, of Somerville, were taken into custody after police executed search and arrest warrants at locations in those communities.

Two firearms were recovered during the arrests.

All three suspects face multiple charges including Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Building, Possession of Large Capacity Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.

Frederic faces an additional charge of Possession of an Untraceable Firearm.

The Salem Police Department worked with multiple agencies on the investigation, including the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker, Massachusetts State Police, Boston Police Department, Quincy Police Department, Somerville Police Department, Somerville Housing Authority Police Department, and the NEMLEC SWAT Team.
