RENSSELAER — A fire at Rensselaer Iron and Steel kept crews busy for over four hours last night.
Company management was notified after flames were discovered in the area of the tailings pile, with the fire extending toward facility structures.
With assistance from facility management, the tailings were separated, allowing crews to successfully suppress the fire.
The Rensselaer Fire Department responded to the scene and worked to contain the blaze.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
