Providence woman arrested on multiple warrants after traffic stop

PROVIDENCE — A 42-year-old Providence woman was arrested early Thursday on multiple outstanding warrants following a traffic stop on Chalkstone Avenue.

Candies Correia, of 116 Hendrick Street #2, was taken into custody at 3:10 a.m. by Rhode Island State Police troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Correia was wanted on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear on a charge of domestic violence violation of a no-contact order.

She also faced four Providence Superior Court bench warrants for failure to appear on charges including possession of a Schedule I to V substance, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, second-degree robbery, and domestic violence unlawful breaking and entering of a dwelling house (first offense).

After processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Correia was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions’ Gloria McDonald Women’s Facility.
