CLIFTON PARK — A Mechanicville man was arrested Wednesday on felony charges related to violating an order of protection, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Tyshaheem M. Banks, 30, faces charges of aggravated family offense and criminal contempt in the first degree, both class E felonies.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Clifton Park on Feb. 12, when Banks allegedly violated an order of protection by failing to stay away from a protected person.
According to authorities, the charges were upgraded to felonies because Banks had a previous criminal contempt conviction within the past five years.
Banks was arraigned before Judge Robert A. Rybak and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
The arrest was made on a warrant issued by the Clifton Park Town Court.
