EAST MONTPELIER — Vermont State Police arrested a homeless man Wednesday afternoon after receiving reports of a disorderly individual disrupting traffic and businesses along U.S. Route 2.
Robert Brown, 31, faces charges of driving under the influence, negligent operation and disorderly conduct following the April 16 incident.
Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the area of 2910 U.S. Route 2 at approximately 2:29 p.m. after receiving complaints about a man causing disruptions at a neighboring store and interfering with passing traffic.
Investigation revealed Brown had been driving a silver Subaru Impreza while under the influence and in a negligent manner before acting disorderly in public, according to police.
Brown was taken into custody and transported to the Berlin Police Department for processing.
He was issued a citation to appear at Washington County Criminal Court on May 1 at 12:30 p.m.
