MALTA — A 61-year-old Malta man was arrested Wednesday morning after being pulled over for speeding on U.S. Route 9.
Thomas Prusinowski was charged with driving while intoxicated, a class E felony, following a traffic stop at 10:27 a.m., according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
The DWI charge was elevated to a felony due to a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years.
Deputies initially stopped Prusinowski for speeding and moving from his lane unsafely.
During the investigation, Prusinowski allegedly refused to submit to a breath test at the request of officers.
He faces additional infractions including speeding, moving from lane unsafely, illegal signal, and operating an uninspected motor vehicle.
Prusinowski was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Malta Town Court at a later date.
