ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday they have successfully identified three individuals sought in connection with an investigation after requesting public assistance through social media.
The sheriff’s office had posted images on Facebook showing two individuals and a white GMC single cab pickup truck with plow equipment attached to the front.
The vehicle had been described as having distinctive markings on the driver’s side door, possibly rust or missing paint.
Lieutenant Brian Archer, who had been the contact person for tips, confirmed the identification was made possible through community response to the department’s Facebook post.
“Your support and assistance have been truly appreciated,” the sheriff’s department stated in their update on social media.
The department did not release the names of the individuals or specify the nature of the investigation that prompted the search.
