Man arrested on warrant during traffic stop in Royalton

ROYALTON — A Bethel man was arrested on an active warrant Tuesday evening during a traffic stop on Vermont Route 14.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks conducted the stop at approximately 7:16 p.m. on April 15.

The passenger was identified as Seth Scaplen, 36, of Bethel.

Dispatch confirmed Scaplen had an active in-state warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of depressant/stimulant/narcotics – 100 times dose or more.

Scaplen was placed under arrest and held at Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $1,500 bail.

He was cited to appear at Windsor County Court in Woodstock on April 16 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charges.
