HOMER — New York State Police responded to two separate crashes Wednesday morning after a light dusting of snow created hazardous driving conditions in Cortland County.
At approximately 6:41 a.m., a trooper from SP Homer was dispatched to a crash on Interstate 81 in the town of Cortlandville.
Investigators determined that a four-door sedan traveling north on I-81 slid on ice, went off the roadway and rolled onto the driver’s side.
The 39-year-old driver from Endicott was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center by TLC ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 8:16 a.m., another trooper responded to a crash on Kinney Gulf Road in the town of Homer.
The investigation revealed that an SUV traveling north slid on ice and went off the roadway, striking a utility pole before coming to rest on its roof.
The 21-year-old driver from Cortland was transported by TLC ambulance to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
