Clay man arrested on multiple felony charges for violating order of protection

HOMER — A 47-year-old Clay man was arrested on multiple felony charges after allegedly violating an order of protection repeatedly over several months.

Joseph M. Mydlenski was taken into custody at Jamesville Correctional Facility at approximately 10:55 a.m. on April 11 by officers from the Homer Police Department.

Mydlenski faces 24 counts of first-degree criminal contempt, an E felony, along with 12 counts of aggravated family offense, also an E felony, and 12 counts of fourth-degree stalking, an A misdemeanor.

The charges stem from incidents occurring between August 2023 and January 2024, when Mydlenski allegedly violated a valid order of protection by contacting the protected party.

Mydlenski was arrested on warrants issued by the Town of Homer Court, with assistance from detectives of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Warrants Investigation Unit.

Following his arrest, Mydlenski was transported to the Cortland County Jail for processing and held for arraignment in the Centralized Arraignment Part.

He is scheduled for release on April 15.
