FAIR HAVEN — A Brandon man was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that began in Fair Haven and ended across state lines in Whitehall, New York.
Rodney D. Keenan, 59, of Brandon, was arrested April 6 after Fair Haven Police attempted to stop him for traveling 67 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 22A at 4:30 p.m.
According to police, Keenan fled south and then west onto Route 4, reaching speeds of 120 mph in a 55 mph zone before crossing into New York State.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Department stopped Keenan in the Village of Whitehall.
During an interview, Keenan admitted to not watching his speed.
Keenan voluntarily returned to the Fair Haven Police Department where he was arrested and charged with attempting to elude and careless and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Rutland District Court at a later date.
