SCIPIO — Four men from Wayne and Ontario counties were arrested after allegedly trespassing at the Old Emily Howland School in Scipio, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Brian Schenck reported that on March 23 at approximately 9:32 p.m., a deputy conducting a property check observed a suspicious vehicle parked behind the privately owned building.
The deputy then witnessed four individuals exiting the building, identified as Daniel J. Talavera of Macedon, Lucas A. Lyons of Farmington, Zakary J. Vanderwege of Palmyra, and Evan M. Haggett of Victor.
On April 3, all four men were charged with criminal trespass in the third degree, a class B misdemeanor.
The suspects were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Scipio Town Court on April 7 at 6:30 p.m.
