PROCTORSVILLE — A local man is facing multiple charges after refusing to cooperate with state police during a welfare check.

Vermont State Police from the Westminster Barracks were called to conduct a welfare check on Todd Laplante, 40, at his Depot Street residence at approximately 7:44 a.m. on April 13.

Troopers reported that Laplante was uncooperative and refused to exit his residence.

Police were called back to the same location the following day, April 14, where a subsequent investigation led to Laplante being charged with lewd and lascivious conduct, unlawful mischief, and disorderly conduct.

Laplante, a Proctorsville resident, was cited and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, at 12:30 p.m. on April 15.
