OWEGO — Owego police responded to a range of incidents during the week of Sunday, April 7 through Sunday, April 13, including six arrests and multiple animal complaints.
During this period, police received a total of 162 calls for service.
Officers made two arrests for criminal mischief and criminal trespass, both involving Charles S. Wilcox, 47, of Owego, who was issued appearance tickets for incidents involving a broken window at a laundromat on North Avenue and trespassing at a residence on William Street.
Kevin C. Shappee, 38, of the town of Tioga, was arrested on a charge of false personation following a trespassing investigation on Elm Street.
He was also issued an appearance ticket.
Patrick J. Logan, 65, of the town of Tioga, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for petit larceny related to shoplifting at a business on West Main Street.
Logan was turned over to Tioga County Sheriff’s custody for arraignment.
Jacob R. Roe, 49, of Whitney Point, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree after a traffic stop on Southside Drive.
He was issued an appearance ticket.
A 47-year-old male from Owego was taken into custody on a mental health hold following a report of danger to self and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Wilcox was also arrested for public appearance under the influence of drugs following a report of an intoxicated male at a business on North Avenue.
He was issued an appearance ticket.
Police responded to two motor vehicle accidents and issued one traffic ticket during the week.
On Saturday, April 12, officers were dispatched to an animal complaint on West Avenue, where they helped a homeowner free a squirrel that had become stuck in an outdoor trash receptacle.
Owego police also investigated six separate animal complaints throughout the village during the week.
