PITTSFORD — A 21-year-old Pittsford man was arrested Monday evening after allegedly assaulting a family member while armed with a weapon.
Vermont State Police responded to a residence in Pittsford at approximately 6:40 p.m. for a reported citizen dispute.
Through investigation, troopers determined that Robert Cann had caused fear of serious bodily injury to a family or household member.
Police said Cann physically assaulted the victim, including strangulation.
Authorities also found that Cann had stolen items and damaged property that did not belong to him.
Cann was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
He is being held without bail on multiple charges including three counts of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault, unlawful mischief, and petite larceny.
