OSWEGO — A coordinated retail theft operation in Oswego led to multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen property on April 10.
The Oswego City Police Department partnered with New York State Police and local retailers to conduct the detail throughout the city.
Five individuals were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor: Aaron D. Vincent, 34, of Fulton; Brittany N. Grant, 34, of Oswego; Leon V. Butler, 40, of Oswego; Chayse E. Spencer, 20, of Livonia; and Christian Finnerty, 23, of Oswego.
A separate traffic stop during the operation resulted in a felony drug arrest.
Paul A. Lyman, 56, of Oswego, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class B felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor; two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree, Class A misdemeanors; and having an uninspected motor vehicle, a violation.
Officers seized 1.4 grams of crack cocaine, 35 dosage units of fentanyl, and $189 in currency during Lyman’s arrest.
The operation is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to combat retail theft in the community.
