COLONIE — A motorcyclist died Monday after colliding with a passenger vehicle on Loudon Road near Grove Lane, police said.
The Colonie Police Department received multiple calls reporting the crash at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Officers arrived to find the motorcycle and passenger vehicle in the roadway.
Colonie EMS responded and attempted lifesaving measures, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the crash site and is cooperating with investigators, according to police.
Names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Loudon Road was closed in both directions for several hours but has since reopened to traffic.
The Colonie Police Department Traffic Safety Division is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
