Felon arrested in Exeter after domestic dispute turns violent

EXETER — New York State Police arrested Mark D. Baily, 54, of Hartwick, following a reported domestic dispute in the town of Exeter at approximately 7:49 p.m. on April 11.

An investigation determined that while at a residence on Robinson Road, Baily was involved in a domestic dispute that began verbally but escalated to physical violence.

Baily is also accused of pointing a loaded crossbow at a victim’s vehicle as they attempted to drive away from the area.

During the investigation, officers discovered that Baily owns several guns despite being prohibited from possessing firearms as a convicted felon.

Baily was arrested at the scene and charged with multiple misdemeanors including menacing in the second degree, assault in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

He was issued appearance tickets to the Exeter Town Court for May 14.
