BRUNSWICK — A Harpswell man has been indicted on manslaughter and other charges following a December crash that killed a 75-year-old Yarmouth resident.
Jeremy Saxton, 45, was arrested Saturday in Harpswell on a grand jury warrant stemming from the Dec. 11, 2024, collision at Pleasant Hill Road and Baribeau Drive, according to Brunswick police.
The charges include Class A manslaughter, Class C aggravated driving to endanger, Class C aggravated criminal mischief, and Class E criminal speed for allegedly driving 30 mph or more over the speed limit.
Saxton was driving a 2019 Chevy pickup westbound on Pleasant Hill Road when Donald Harding, 75, of Yarmouth, pulled into his path while driving a 2013 Ford Edge southbound on Baribeau Drive, police said.
Harding died at the scene despite wearing a seatbelt and his vehicle’s airbags deploying.
Saxton, who was uninjured in the crash, was transported to Cumberland County Jail following his April 12 arrest and posted $10,000 cash bail.
The indictment followed a four-month investigation and reconstruction of the crash.
