Driver faces DUI charges after Pittsford crash

PITTSFORD — A West Rutland man faces multiple charges after crashing his pickup truck near Butler Pond on Sunday evening.

Jason Gagnon, 39, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado on Whipple Hollow Road when he veered off the left side of the roadway and struck several trees at approximately 8:07 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

Gagnon suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled in the collision, which occurred under cloudy skies on dry road conditions.

Following an investigation, troopers determined Gagnon was operating under the influence of intoxicants at the time of the crash.

Gagnon was cited for DUI, negligent operation, and violation of conditions of release.

He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Rutland Criminal Division on April 28 at 10 a.m.
