NORTHWOOD — A bomb threat posted on social media prompted the evacuation of Coe-Brown Northwood Academy on Monday, according to local police.
School administrators discovered the threat at approximately 11:08 a.m. and immediately notified the Northwood Police Department.
The academy activated its emergency response plan, evacuating all faculty and staff from campus buildings.
Northwood officers, assisted by police departments from Strafford, Pittsfield, and Deerfield, responded to secure the campus.
Chief Drolet requested assistance from the New Hampshire State Police Bomb Squad to investigate the threat.
Officers and bomb squad personnel with K9 units searched the entire campus but found no explosive devices.
The campus was deemed safe at approximately 1:10 p.m., allowing the school to resume normal operations.
Police have developed several leads and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
