CARROLLTON — A traffic stop on Route 219 led to the arrest of three Olean residents after deputies discovered controlled substances and more than $10,000 in cash, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
Alecia M. Cheney, 19, was taken into custody at approximately 4:34 a.m. on April 13 after being pulled over in the Town of Carrollton.
Deputies determined Cheney was driving while intoxicated and conducted a search of the vehicle.
The search yielded a white powdery substance and a crystallized substance, both identified as controlled substances, along with $10,422 in cash.
Two passengers, Marcus A. Turner, 42, and Jenna Sevinsky, 35, were also arrested.
All three were transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Turner and Sevinsky were released on appearance tickets for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
Cheney faces multiple charges including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Aggravated DWI, Driving While Intoxicated, and operating a motor vehicle with 0.08 of 1% or more alcohol in blood.
Additional charges against Cheney include Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree, Unlicensed Operation, No/Inadequate Headlight, Move from Lane Unsafely, Fail to Keep Right, Failed to Stop at Stop Sign, and Registration Display Violation.
All three are scheduled to appear in the Town of Carrollton Court at a later date.
