EAST HAVEN — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a passing train Saturday evening in East Haven, according to local authorities.
Amtrak Police contacted the East Haven Public Safety Dispatch Center at approximately 6:28 p.m. to report the incident, which occurred in the area of Saltonstall Parkway and Forbes Place.
East Haven Police units are currently on scene assisting Amtrak Police with the investigation.
Officials are asking the public to avoid the area due to the high volume of emergency vehicles, although the incident does not directly impact East Haven roadways.
