MONTGOMERY — A 19-year-old Montgomery resident was cited for grossly negligent operation and excessive speed after being clocked at 88 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 118.
On April 13 at approximately 12:09 a.m., Vermont State Police were conducting speed enforcement near Dreamers Road when they observed a vehicle traveling well above the posted limit.
Troopers confirmed the vehicle’s speed via radar and also witnessed the driver pass another vehicle on a blind corner in a 25 mph zone at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was subsequently stopped, and the operator was identified as Isaiah Snider, 19, of Montgomery.
Snider was released on a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on May 27 for the charges.
He was also issued civil violation complaints for operating with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.02 or more as a person under 21, carrying a $47 fine, and for traveling 31 or more mph over the speed limit, which carries a $572 fine.
