BARNSTEAD — A 31-year-old Chichester man is in custody following a police pursuit that spanned several New Hampshire communities early Sunday morning.
State Police dispatch received notification around 8 a.m. Sunday, April 13, that Loudon Police Department officers were pursuing a vehicle on Route 106.
During the chase, the driver reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic multiple times, driving in the wrong direction.
The pursuit continued through Chichester into Pittsfield, where State Troopers took over as the primary pursuing units.
Authorities eventually terminated the chase due to public safety concerns.
The suspect vehicle was later found abandoned on Tilton Hill Road in Pittsfield.
A State Police K9 unit responded to track the suspect, who was identified as Dylan Beaudet of Chichester.
Beaudet was located on Bow Lake Road in Barnstead and taken into custody.
He was transferred to Loudon Police Department for processing, with additional charges expected from State Police as the investigation continues.
Troop D officers received assistance from local law enforcement in Loudon, Chichester and Pittsfield, as well as State Troopers from the Troop E barracks.
