NEWTOWN — Two juveniles were charged this week for damaging windows at the Fairfield Hills Campus, according to the Newtown Police Department.
The unoccupied buildings at Fairfield Hills, though in various states of disrepair, are not considered abandoned by definition.
Police officials emphasized that entering, damaging, or vandalizing these buildings is against the law.
Authorities did not release the names of the juveniles due to their age or specify what charges were filed.
The Fairfield Hills Campus, a former state psychiatric hospital, has been owned by the town since 2004.
