PUTNAM — A car crashed into a local liquor store early Saturday morning, forcing the business to close temporarily while repairs are made.
Putnam Emergency Dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 6:40 a.m. on April 12 reporting a vehicle had struck Sunny Discount Liquor located at 150 Providence St.
Putnam Police, Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene.
Investigators determined that 29-year-old Alexis Marjorie of Putnam was driving a 2005 Toyota Rav4 westbound on Providence St. when she lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and crashed into the building.
Marjorie and her adult passenger were evaluated by Putnam EMS at the scene but declined medical transport.
Police issued Marjorie an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.
The Putnam Building Official and Fire Marshal assessed the damage and determined that Sunny Discount Liquor must remain closed until repairs to the building can be completed.
