HORSEHEADS — A vehicle crashed into an electrical pole near Horseheads High School on Friday, causing significant damage but no injuries, according to fire officials.
The Horseheads Fire/Rescue Department responded to the scene on Center Street at approximately 4:12 p.m. with Engine 1034 and Rescue 1081.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a heavily damaged vehicle that had struck an electrical pole, but reported no injuries to the vehicle’s occupants.
Fire crews checked for hazards before turning the scene over to Horseheads Police Department and New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG).
Erway Ambulance Service, Dave’s Towing, and the Chemung County Sheriff’s E911 center assisted at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
