Authorities said Hines resisted officers as they entered the residence and had to be detained following a brief struggle.

During the search, investigators seized 30.5 grams of methamphetamine and 5.7 grams of fentanyl, along with digital scales, packaging material and $304 in U.S. currency.

Hines was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony.

He also faces misdemeanor charges including two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Following arraignment, Hines was remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility, where he remains in custody.
