SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Police arrested a Johnston man on multiple charges including felony assault and reckless driving Thursday night.
Derek R. Paolucci, 28, of 785 Greenville Avenue, Johnston, was taken into custody by Seekonk Police Department and extradited from Massachusetts Department of Corrections to Rhode Island State Police Headquarters.
Paolucci faces charges of felony assault and/or battery, reckless driving, and disorderly conduct – fighting/tumultuous behavior.
He was also arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant for reckless driving – eluding law enforcement officer from the Johnston Police Department, and an affidavit and arrest warrant for possession of a firearm from the Providence Police Department.
Paolucci was held overnight pending morning arraignment in Third Division District Court, where he will be presented as a probation violator.
In a separate incident early Friday at 1:11 a.m., troopers arrested Dakarii E. Pona, 21, of 22 Hyat Street, Providence, as a fugitive from justice out of the Seekonk, Massachusetts, Police Department for passing counterfeit notes.
Pona’s arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Manton Avenue in Providence.
He was transported to the State Police – Scituate Barracks, processed, and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Sixth Division District Court.
