POUGHKEEPSIE — New York State Police arrested a Saugerties woman on multiple charges after she allegedly forged a vehicle title belonging to a patient in her care.
Shana D. Shaw, 30, was taken into custody April 9 by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation following an investigation into her activities as a home health care aide.
Investigators say Shaw forged a vehicle title belonging to her patient and presented it to the Department of Motor Vehicles to claim ownership of the vehicle.
Shaw faces charges including second-degree possession of a forged instrument, fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree falsifying business records, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person.
She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the City of Poughkeepsie Justice Court on April 15 at 9 a.m.
