MECHANICVILLE — A 45-year-old Mechanicville man was sentenced to 97 months in prison Thursday for methamphetamine distribution and firearm offenses.

Charles Brennan received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Anne M. Nardacci following his September 2024 jury conviction on charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

The jury acquitted Brennan on two counts of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Evidence presented during the four-day trial showed Brennan participated in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy between July and September 2022.

Prosecutors proved Brennan distributed methamphetamine from his Mechanicville residence on two occasions during that period.

When authorities executed a search warrant at his home, they discovered 9 grams of pure methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and eight firearms, including a pistol with an altered serial number.

Judge Nardacci also imposed a four-year term of supervised release to follow Brennan’s prison sentence.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
