JERUSALEM — A Penn Yan man faces multiple charges including driving while intoxicated and harassment after allegedly attempting to bite a deputy during a traffic stop.
Mario Feria-Morales, 59, was stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation on Skyline Drive in the Town of Jerusalem at approximately 8:55 p.m. on April 9.
While being taken into custody, Feria-Morales allegedly subjected a deputy to unwanted contact by attempting to bite the deputy’s ear.
Feria-Morales was transported to the Yates County Jail where he submitted to a chemical test.
He faces charges of second-degree harassment, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, driving while intoxicated, failing to stop at a stop sign, failing to obey a police officer, and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway.
Feria-Morales was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Jerusalem court to answer to the charges.
