WEST SENECA — A man was found sleeping on a riding lawn mower beneath the 400 overpass on Lein Road shortly after midnight on March 23.
When officers arrived, they found the lawn mower empty at the roadside.
The abandoned vehicle appeared to be an approximately 1979-1981 model year orange Cub Cadet with vomit on the seat and steering wheel, based on the serial number and other features.
No one was in the area, no personal belongings were found that would identify the owner, and the keys were not in the ignition.
The mower was towed from the roadway.
In another incident that day, police responded to a fight involving 10-15 males at LA Fitness that began on the basketball court and spread to the gym floor, where some participants grabbed barbells as weapons.
As officers arrived, the group was exiting the facility after being trespassed by the manager.
The individuals refused to identify themselves, shouted about returning for a “rematch,” and continued arguing in the parking lot before eventually dispersing without further incident.
